The first snow of the year and the first temps below freezing.
Just a dusting so far but several inches of snow and freezing temps and blowing wind are forecast throughout the day.
The radar maps show a long line of snowbelt passing through and into the arrowhead of Minnesota and into Duluth.
Southwest to northeast across several states and then sunny and clear skies again and low temps just below freezing night and day the next day which will be Saturday and then Sunday and on into the week.
We might get into the low forties above again and we might not.
Forty below on and off is possible for the next several months and several feet of snow.
Ten feet of snow in bits and pieces is not unheard of..
This is North Dakota and Minnesota and Manitoba.

Their will be a foot of ice on the lakes in a few short weeks and nothing but freezing.

We don't have rattlesnakes and scorpions or crocodiles but we do have mosquitoes and forty below.
The mosquitoes are not to bad where I live unless you go into the woods where they will eat you alive.
The indians lived great in these conditions.
They had underground houses and were warm and toasty and well fed all winter for the most part.
They knew how to live.
They would dig a big hole and put trees and poles all around the edges and then poles across the top tapered to a hole in the center to let the smoke out.
Then a fire pit in the middle with rocks all around it and plenty of firewood to stay warm and cook with and for light.
They had warm furs and leathers and feathers to stay warm and dry with and an abundance of food.
Deer and fish and rabbits and birds and plant life for the most part in this area and most of the United States and Canada.
A garden of eden until the White Europeans came and murdered them all and killed all the buffalo and slaughtered the forests and burned all the grassland to grow highbred wheat and sugar beets and other highbred grains and fruits and vegetables.
Destroying everything including the food we eat and the water we drink and the air we breathe and poisoning the ground we live on with his chemicals and warfare and disease and society.
