Article in Wall Street Journal - Today - Hunger lines and Looting in Venezuela.. Food shortages..
Here I am catastrophic guy again but if this China Market plunge and falling oil prices were to push us into a global market crash like the one we had in 1929 with The Great Depression, to follow
Which may happen and probably will happen and might be happening right now..
World population in 1929 was about two billion people.
Huge portions of our population were still self supporting with gardens and chickens and cows and local sources of heat.
Many without electricity and running water.
People could manage and still there were soup lines.
Today we heat by turning up the thermostat and get our water by turning on the faucet.
We get our food at the local grocery store and buy it with money.
The grocery store gets it's food by truck.
The truck get the food from the grocery warehouses.
The warehouses get there food from the shippers.
The shippers get there food from the processors.
The processors get there food from the farmers.
The farmers get the food from the ground.
Money is exchanged at each step along the way.
We did not have atomic bombs and airplanes in 1929..
Our food chain and energy chain and economic chain which is all market driven is going to collapse.
Nothing else can happen..
It is to large and to volatile..
When it does we got hell to pay.
