I thought I was past that but I wasn't.
I think the Wild Rice brought it on.
First I started eating a lot of Wild Rice for several weeks and Wild Rice Flour on my fish and pork chops.
Eating a big meal twice a day and most often with Wild Rice.
A couple of weeks of that and into Thanksgiving week and I just broke down.
A couple of restaurant meals and ice cream.
I had some emotional shit going on to.
Shit gnawing at me.
Real shit.
I gained about ten pounds in about five days.
On diet again for a few days and then off again.
Same thing.
Restaurant Buffets and Ice Cream.
I have been back on track and on diet 100% now for about three weeks only.
Probably a month now.
100%
Zero Carb
Meat and eggs only.
A few seasonings and moderate salt.
Clarified butter.
Water to drink.
One multivitamin a day.
Sporadically.
I had been doing zero seasonings when I fell apart.
I got the ten pounds I had regained back off again and am feeling great once more.
I feel like shit and my whole system goes to hell on me when I eat sugars and carbs after being fully detoxed for months and months.
Zero Carb.
Almost absolute zero.
Four weeks now.
28 days or more.
It was scary.
Losing my hold I had had for close to six months time.
Eggs have one gram of carb but I don't count those.
Dried onion flakes a slight amount.
Clarified butter none.
One big meal every day, sometime in the morning or close to noon.
Depending on what I'm doing.
About a three pound meal or more.
Seldom less.
I'm back down to about two hundred eighty pounds.
Still fat as hell but not the three hundred and seventy pounds I once was.
I can suck in my gut a little and my clothes are getting a little looser.
Two or three pounds of meat and six or twelve eggs is an average meal.
Once a day.
Fat, fat, meat.
Wild caught fish and birds once or twice a week.
Otherwise cow or pig.
Everything from raw.
Usually frozen and thawed.
Nothing processed except if you call 100% ground pork and 100% ground beef processed.
Pan fried for the most part or slow cooked in my crockpot.
Salt and seasonings lately but zero seasoning or salt works great.
Takes some getting onto as our palate changes.
You get the real taste of the food.
It's probably far the better for our health.
I have done it for several months at a time and just recently.
It definitely works great and I feel my best.
The boring part of it creeps in now and then and will get to you if you let it.
You forget all about it though for the most part and enjoy your meal immensely just like you do your salted and seasoned meal.
I know for a fact that it best for our health.
Every other species eats 100% zero salt or seasonings and enjoy it fully.
Water only to drink.
Natures diet.
I usually buy jumbo eggs although I have been buying large eggs lately at Walmart.
$2.50 for 18 eggs at Walmart vs $3.00 for one dozen jumbo eggs at Central Market.
No Wild Rice.
I'm trying to bring this thing home and get down to one hundred and eighty pounds.
One hundred pounds to go.
I'm skiing at Detroit Mountain, bunny hills and riding recumbent exercise bikes and watching the news at our health club in DL
DLCCC they call it.
We still call it Holmes Center, it's original name.
A fourteen million dollar community and cultural center here in DL
Detroit Lakes, Minnesota
We have an olympic size pool I use routinely.
I never swim although I swim well.
I just stand around and stretch and relax and prance around on one leg and then the other and make moves and stretches as comes naturally.
Usually for about an hour, sometimes two hours.
Feels great.
I love it.
Trying to regain my health.
That truck about killed me this season.
I'm getting to old for these trucks.
I can hardly walk when I get out of them.
I'm pushing seventy.
I will be seventy in April of 2015.
About four months from now.
I'm going into full retirement.
I'm not sure how much time I have left on this earth but spending half of it in a truck and the other half recovering from the driving of that truck is not going to happen.
Whatever time I got left will be spent with my feet on the ground.
Not all alone in a truck and suffering.
My dad is twenty years older than me and going strong.
He will be ninety this August.
I don't know if I will be that lucky or not.
I feel pretty good when I don't binge and getting this last one hundred pounds off should help.
The more I lose the better my knees and ankle feel.
I'm getting around pretty good now and it gets better.
I joined the mountain for a seasonal membership and have always had the Health Club DLCCC membership since they opened thirteen or fourteen years ago.
I love them both.
I sit around the fire outside by the fire pit at Detroit Mountain and visit with people and ski down the bunny hill every now and then.
I can spend hours doing this every day they are open.
Usually five days a week, but all seven right now during the Holidays.
I got a little Sony Walkman FM Radio from Kmart yesterday.
$15 with headphones.
It works great.
I'm going to use it to watch TV while riding that stationary recumbent bicycle.
I don't have Cable TV in my house right now so it's a treat to watch the news while exercising.
I find the recumbents to be relaxing and can ride easily for a long time.
Nothing stressful.
I'm not up for hard workouts or extreme stuff.
Just soft and easy works for me.
All at the DLCCC.
I got ninety pounds of 73/27 hamburger at Walmart yesterday.
Five pound tubes.
Usually $16.83
Marked down to $11.53
I'm making it into meatloaf in my crockpot.
Cooks all the way through to 200 degrees on low.
300 degrees on high.
Either that or pan fried to all the way done and at least 160 degrees in the center.
We have no other choice.
I saved about $90 on this purchase plus I used my American Express Card (Blue) and got 6% back on the $220 purchase.
About $13.20
I get 6% back on my grocery purchases.
I saved something close to $105 on this one purchase.
I got five pounds of hamburger for the price of three pounds.
Eighteen packages.
Dated product but still five days from the eat or freeze date.
I can eat for about $6.50 a day with eggs instead of $18 a day for steaks and eggs this way.
$300 a month instead of $600 a month.
In round numbers.
Big difference.
Wild caught ocean fish for $6 for two pounds, from no tellem lake.
Free freshwater fish when I catch them myself.
Pays for my gas to town and back.
My little car gets 45 miles to the gallon.
$2.13 gas here lately.
I have been getting 45 miles to the gallon for about fifteen years.
A large part of my small success story.
Not just the gas savings which is large but also the being able to go anywhere without ever having to think about gas costs or even factoring that in, helps a lot.
My car cost me $800 and will give me over a hundred and fifty thousand miles.
I drive for practically nothing.
Insurance $30 a month.
I own my home and land and have built a wonderful retirement.
I get $687 a month after insurance and can live comfortably on that.
I have Blue Cross and in addition pay about $110 Medicare each month.
Deducted from my Social Security.
Blue Cross is only $35 a month and they pay my Health Club Membership.
Sweet.
I get no government assistance.
I pay my taxes.
More than I need too.
It's easier.
Same as everybody else except I am doing it on less.
No problem for me.
I'm happy as a bird with my finances and lifestyle.
I feel like a rich man which is what I am.
I love my home and vehicles.
I got good boats too.
And a snowplow.
Let'er blow.
I live on a lake.
Got good heat.
Two acres adjoining a government public access with a boat ramp and dock here on Little Floyd Lake.
Detroit Lakes, Minnesota
I love it.
I jokingly tell everybody I got over eight hundred feet of shoreline.
I really do.
It belongs to everybody except my two acres.
That's mine.
I'm four miles north from downtown Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
I have lived twenty miles from town.
It makes a big difference.
Gas and time.
I just zip in and out of town whenever I feel like it.
Nothing to it.
Five minutes each way vs twenty minutes or more.
Big difference.
Ten miles roundtrip.
About fifty cents worth of gas in my little car at todays gas prices.
I usually save that in something I buy.
Incidentally on the diet front again..
My all you can eat diet consists of eating one large meal a day.
It works perfect.
Versus a starvation diet.
My one huge meal tastes great and I'm full to the top and not hungry again, even the next day.
No carbohydrate or sugar cravings.
I eat my one meal even though I'm not hungry.
Once in awhile I'll skip eating that day but usually I cook and eat that one meal.
I love not being hungry after stuffing myself on my once a day meal.
Everyday is a holiday.
No hunger pangs whatsoever.
I love it.
Zero drugs and my all you can eat low low carb diet and zero carb diet .
HFLC
High fat, low carb
That's what I got here.
Pure health.
Mind, body and soul.
That and the reason for mans insanity and what we can do about it.
Best we can.
