This thing snuck up on us even though China tried to do something about it fifty or sixty years ago with their one child per family rule.
We have doubled since then and everybody goes along like nothing is happening.
Our global reliance is basically new this last fifty or sixty years.
To the extent that we have become at least.
Lets take 1960 until today.
A 57 year time span.
3,039,451,023 people on the planet earth.
We have more than doubled our worlds population in this last 57 years.
That means we got to feed and shelter and take care of twice as many people as there were 57 years ago.
Living space and water and food and clothes and shelter and transportation and recreation and medicine.
In 1960 we could do this locally although we were very much global then already.
Rationing in World War II was common because of war necessities and disruptions in everything because of the war.
We have added to the worlds population the equivalent of the entire United States population ten times over.
They are not all living here but if they were instead of three hundred eighty million people we would have something like over three billion people living right here in the United States.
Disrupt this food chain and disrupt this energy chain and disrupt this economic chain and we got hell to pay and it's going to happen any day.
How the scientists and economists have missed this phenomena is beyond me.
It's as plain as the nose on your face.
I have heard it said that the entire earths population would fit into the state of Texas.
That's no doubt true.
Now feed and shelter and water and take care of the needs of these people and get rid of their waste products and see how much that takes.
And I'm the guy that is not the doomsayer..
We get our food from our local grocery store and pay by credit card or cash or bank check.
We get our heat delivered and pay the bill.
We turn our thermostat up and down as desired and pay the bill.
It is always there.
We turn on the water facet and water comes out.
Hot and cold.
We get in our car and fill it with gas and go somewhere.
There is always gas and somewhere to go.
Transportation moves all this stuff all around the globe.
Global and The United States and North America transportation and production is important to all of us.
The rest of the earth relies heavily on their own resources as well as global resources just like we do.
